Leaving Chicago

I left Chicago on a jet plane. Not sure when I’ll be back again.  That was the thought.  It was sad to leave.  And I am not really sure when I will be back again.  Now with the internet, it’s almost like I have never left !    I can still chat to everyone and almost not feel so far away.  Well, OK, I am far far away.  I plan to update you with my mini-movies from Melbourne, Australia.

I am here to help the family in a crisis, and we are not sure how long it will take to remedy.

On the very long trek over the oceans, I was lucky enough to ride the plane up the front.  And I must say, “WOW”  First class domestic is nothing compared to International.  I got to see 5 movies and had 4 amazing meals.   If you get the chance, I highly recommend it.    On the way to Melbourne, we stopped in San Francisco, USA….and also in Auckland, New Zealand.   Two seats in front of me, I should say “cocoon like seats” in front of me (here is what the seats looked like…. http://www.flatseats.com/Gallery/NZ-1.htm
Anyway, two seats in front of me was Lance Henricksen. The actor who played “Bishop” in the movie ALIENS.   I got to talk to him, and he was very very cool.  You will remember him if you see his photo.

     http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000448/  for his BIO.

Anyway, I have arrived and I am settling in OK.  It’s weird not going to sleep in my own bed in Chicago. But well, I will get used to it.  Mom has been wonderful (I am staying at her house for now.)  I will keep you posted.

Here is one of the first things I saw when I arrived.   He was my “neighbor” in Lake Forest, IL
Mr. T was here a few months ago and he did a series of TV commercials and billboards for SNICKERS.
I pitty the fool who doesn’t click here……
See the vdeos of him.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTwaX2AAAlQ&feature=related

These are actually very controversial ads about MR T picking on “pansy” type men.  Telling them to “get some nuts” and then he hurls a snickers bar at them. I think it’s very funny myself, and I see the humor, and I don’t think it’s pointing to gays specifically, just making a funny joke.

Anyway, that’s life in the politically correct lanes…
